This week, Cédric Coustaury, Manager of our Caen subsidiary and also our expert in wind turbine noise, is in Glasgow for the international Wind Turbine Noise conference.
In the context of statutory evolution concerning the minimal distances to be respected between wind turbines and houses, these exchanges and presentations will deal with the effects on health wind turbine noise has – about the technical mapping of its noise – the regulations when measuring noise in the environment – etc. Practical cases brought back by experts come from a large number of countries in the world (Japan, Korea, Germany…) will be analyzed.
This is the sixth of the biennial international conferences on Wind Turbine Noise. Last year’s conference, held unusually outside Europe, attracted nearly 200 delegates from 22 countries representing manufacturers, developers, researchers, environmentalists, pressure groups and consultants and exhibitors . The sixth conference will once again provide an opportunity for all those with an interest in wind turbine noise, its generation, its prediction, its assessment and its effects on people, to meet together and discuss common problems and solutions.
